Enterprise Client Access License.
This is the most flexible license available, and is typically the first choice for
customers. The Enterprise CAL allows users to access any Viewer application, any custom
application, and services provided by the e-Vantage Host Access Server. In addition, each
Enterprise CAL includes a fully licensed copy of EXTRA!® Personal Client, effectively permitting access to any host over
any connection using thick or thin application technology. In this way, customers can
evolve to e-business at their own pace without concern over licensing restrictions or
additional costs.Standard Client Access License.
The Standard CAL allows the use of basic terminal emulation Viewer applications for access
to native host applications. It does not include permission to access custom e-business
applications.
Enterprise and Standard Client Access Licenses for AS/400 or UNIX® /VMS™ .
Similar to the licenses just described,
these CALs permit connectivity to only AS/400®
or UNIX/VMS systems.
Special Purpose Client Access Licenses.
Some e-Vantage components, such as the Host Print Server and Desktop Management Option,
require a supplemental Client Access License to access the additional functionality.
Again, CALs simply grant permission to use the services and applications of the Host
Access Server.
