Generix announces
Launch of CONNX for Oracle From Soluitons IQ
Press Release 2nd June 1999.
Generix Limited , today announced the
European launch of SolutionsIQ, CONNX
8.0 for Oracle. CONNX makes it possible for PC users to simultaneously
and securely access multiple databases, including RMS, Rdb, Digital DBMS and DataFlex
and now Oracle in real time and without expensive programming or disruption
of existing systems.
More than 3,000 organizations worldwide use CONNX
products to access multiple, disparate databases from a single "master" data
access engine. With CONNX, end users can access mission-critical enterprise data using
familiar desktop applications that are generally already on their PC.
While other data access software requires separate
programs to be written for each type of Oracle platform accessed, CONNX 8 supports all Oracle platforms. The new version also
provides more extensive SQL support than other data access software products.
"Keeping multiple databases current is of strategic
importance to organisations. CONNX provides this with the minimum user input., " said
Leonard Klejnow, Business Development Director at Generix
"With CONNX 8, businesses can take advantage of
desktop applications and tools they are already using to access their Oracle and legacy
data," Klejnow added. "CONNX allows users real-time transparent access to their
enterprise data ."
Equipped with a Data Dictionary Wizard, CONNX greatly
reduces start-up time and truly provides instant access to data. Because CONNX is
open-standards based, it can be used by Oracle programs, such as Developer, Designer,
Forms and Reports. And, whereas other products require a consulting team to describe
metadata, CONNX 8 directly imports metadata from Oracle.
CONNX not only respects existing database security, it
provides an additional level of security through individual user, group, row, field and
table security options. Additionally, the CONNX Data Dictionary is encrypted to secure
sensitive information.
CONNX is currently available
for Oracle, RMS, Rdb, Digital DBMS and DataFlex databases. Support for DB2 databases is
scheduled for release in Summer 1999.
